Suggestions appreciated:

I get brake squeal from the rear when braking gently. I have noticed the pads move slightly when I reverse then brake, then move back again on the first forward brake. I only get a slight clonking noise and they work fine otherwise (lots of meat on them, Ferodo DS2500 pads). The pads are a tiny bit smaller than their 'aperture'. Now I've greased all the relevant parts liberally but I still get squealing. I assume the movement described earlier is a hint.

Any suggestions? There do not seem to be any anti-squeal shims for the rear ('95 Chimaera). I'd love to stop this annoying noise.

I know of a service bulletin Audi issued a few years ago to stop TT brakes squealing. They used some kind of special gluey stuff to stick the pads into place to stop them moving about. I'm thinking doing this on mine would probably be pointless since the first time I brake hard the seal will brake.

Have you tried a coating of " copper ease " on the back of the pads ?

This usually works just as well as shims.
