Right I've just ordered a super dooper 1Mb broad band connection for at home but haven't a clue how to get the most out of ? I've justified it to myself by saying I currently have charged against work a dedicated dial up BT line (plus domestic line which I pay for personally) and a £15.00 dial up account. So by getting a broad band connection I will lose my second line company costs and actually save company money by piggy backing my domestic line However I really only use the web for email and browsing and dial up has always been fine for that, so now I've got this 20x faster access to my email whats all the other stuff I can find ???????? I'd like to download loads of free music and videos but since napster went I haven't bothered keeping up with what can be ripped off err l mean legitimately downloaded out there and haven't a clue where to start ? so whats the PH top ten sites for me to pay a visit to with my new found high speed access.

I think the trick is normally to know what you're going to do with something before you get it!

You could always do massive downloads of video, software etc and put them on CD for your poor dial-up buddies...?

you'll be wanting a P2P client then

my prefered is www.overnet.org but I dunno what the windoze client is like 'cause I use Linux.......

oh, and either switch on the firewall feature in XP, or get a firewall of some description to avoid worms.....

.... and some AV protection

You can get an overnet client for windows here also kazaa is still working. Make sure you have a Firewall, Anti-Virus and your PC is fully patched. I would also not advise installing p-2-p clients and the associated ilegally downloaded software on your work PC (PORN!!).

Music - www.slsknet.org
Software and DVD's - Kazaa Lite K++/eMule Plus

You'll have to Google for Kazaa Lite due to the litigation surrounding it at the moment...

Does Blubster have any of the spyware/ads bundled with it as with Kazaa and the likes?

If you get Kazaa Lite K++ it has no spyware, no adware and loads of dead handy little toys that the normal Kazaa is missing...

I use Kazaa Lite for music and other assorted bits.

Bittorrent for downloading full DVDs, Games, Albums, TV Progs etc.

www.suprnova.org - refresh if it doesn't load, see what's on offer

Get a copy of winamp 5 and find an internet radio station to listen to. It makes a nice change from listening to my own stuff over and over.
