Where can I find out the times the steam train will go over Ribblehead viaduct in Yorkshire? I given up on dead end Google searches. I'm nr Ribblehead viaduct on Saturday with my camera.

Timetables are here http://www.settle-carlisle.co.uk/timetables/index.... ( 10 secs Googling ) but you'll probably have to call to find out if its a steam or diesel service

Found that and other sites that are similar or link to it. As you say it doesn't differentiate steam train neither do the others. I did find one that showed which days the trains ran so it could be booked as a passenger but alas no timetable. No-one will be there now, I'm on a 12hr day tomo so I guess I'll never know.

The mid-week ones run on every Wednesday from June 12th to August 28th, and are run by Statesman Rail. They run from Lancaster, via Preston and the Settle-Carlisle and return. The ones over the S&C at weekends are generally tours from out of the area using the S&C.

This site http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs13.htm gives you details of all steam-hauled services operating in the country (updated because the link posted above is 4 years old because the post is 4 years old smile )

The column on the right hand side for each entry leads you to the train operators website where you can book
