I noticed today at my local Shell station that V Power petrol is now rated at 99 ron.

Am I mistaken or did it used to be 97 ron?

Will V Power now be an equal or superior to Tesco 99?

YEP its 99 Ron

www.shell.co.uk/home/content/gbr/products_services/on_the_road/fuels/v_power_pkg/overview/overview.html

High performance fuel designed to improve responsiveness

Shell V-Power contains powerful cleaning technology, developed to help enhance everyday driving performance and responsiveness. These cleaning components are designed to prevent the build up of power-robbing inlet valve deposits and to help remove those which may have been left behind by other fuels.

High performance fuel formulated for enhancing power delivery

Shell V-Power is also a high performance fuel (99 RON) designed to help you get the most out of every drop. Shell V-Power is formulated to reduce friction between the cylinder and piston rings, a critical area of the engine where lubrication is difficult to achieve. It's designed to help the engine turn more freely, and so help transfer energy from the fuel to the wheels more efficiently.

Bp garage in portsmouth does 108 Octane at 1 pump. You have to go into the shop and get the daily pass code before you can use the pump, oh I forgot it costs 2.50 a litre iirc yikes

Probably not as it would jus dilute it down.

£2.50 a litre is well a tad expensive! May aswell buy it in a barrel from the specialist suppliers!

I thought that it was only 102 octane? 108 would be something like £10 a litre.
