Off to Makro this evening to stock up for our 'end of summer BBQ' tomorrow as well as invest in 5kg of fresh chicken breast to do a massive curry cook up on Sunday.

A bonus being that it is right next to an Asda Petrol station who I have been told have today started a petrol price way by slashing their fuel by 5p a litre.

I'm stuck at Dusseldorf airport waiting to board my flight home to Leeds Bradford. Another hour and I might be boarding the air-bourne taxi.

If I was at home I would be having a glass of wine and deciding what to cook my girlfriend and I to eat a little later.

It would probably be a very good risotto.

Bummer

A few friends over to watch a couple of films and drink some beers. Firing up the smoker in an hour to do three racks of 5-hour, hickory & oak smoked ribs. Served with a bucket of Jalapeno chilies stuffed with cheese, and wrapped in streaky bacon. Also smoked.

Good, casual, cost effective time with friends. Enjoy your weekend, friends..

I'm on pistonheads again, I have terrible trouble getting off the general gassing thread when I should be putting my daughter in the bath. Now I am on here, no sounds of splashing yet which is suspicious... might have to go look for her in a while, just might check out the threads again first though ...

Regards
Andy

'Peanut coleslaw' sounds like a euphemism for 'pavement pizza'...

Oh, Peanut Coleslaw is a nice change from ordinary.

I make it with a grated head of white cabbage, grated carrots and a very small amount of red onion.

Toast some peanuts, then put in a bag and smash very lightly, just to break them up a bit.

Then blitz : rice wine vinegar, Lemon juice, sesame oil, about a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter, mayo, and a tsp of soy and some s+p (The quantities are always random - this is a done to taste combo, just don't go heavy on the soy as it'll be way too salty)

Grab a big bowl, add the slaw, mix in the dressing and add the peanuts...like I said - nice change from ordinary, which can always be a bit vinegary for my taste.
