TVR Event at Piece Hall in Halifax on 27th September
Discussion
Attached find the flyer for the event at The Piece Hall in Halifax on Sunday 27th September

This is going to be held as a TVR Car Club only event.
The format is going to be quite laid back.
Looking to attract up to 120 TVR's for safe parking within the building.
This will give owners the opportunity to chill out with friends, sample its unique shops,
cafes and entertainment areas whilst providing some stunning backdrops for the budding photographers out there.
Piece Hall management are also in the process of confirming music on the day through local radio stations etc,
plus some other attractions. So the aim is to make it a fun day out.
Entry is from 09:30 hrs in the morning. The event is expected to wrap up around 4pm.
Entry is FREE to all TVR's (other cars will have to park on street outside the Piece Hall!).
All TVRCC neighbouring regions are invited.
It would be a great achievement to "max out" the Hall of this lovely Yorkshire venue.
If members want to come along, could they please sign up on the thread in the WYTVR Car forum,
or PM me so we can keep a track of numbers
Not a great deal left of the season after end of Sept, so let's make this a good one.
I will arrange a suitable meeting up point for a run in and fanfairs on arrival (well lovely sounds as we arrive anyway!!!)
and add as soon as possible to this post
Hope as many TVRs as possible can join us
and anyone wishing to come see the spectacle is welcome as well
Cheers

I may make it, but I'm not renewing my TVRCC membership, so if that excludes me???
I guess if its TVRCC only and your membership has exxpired then the answer should be yes.Question for you, if its not for financial reasons, why not renew? It's pretty much the same car club it was when you joined. I know you've had your opinion indifferences with some things on the forum and maybe the committee, but most members who care have from time to time (trust me, I've been there more times than most).
The club is the people, and the vast majority are warm welcoming folk. Memebership brings a decent mag every month (I would argue its pants compared to wat it was but) and host of discounts that will pay for your membership in most cases. It also allaows entry into some Car club only events......
Stick with its Sean, its worth the hastle..

I think the main problem may actually be that the TVR Car Club provides the Public Liability Insurance at TVR Club organised events, (ie this event) and doubt whether you are covered if you aren't a fully paid up member.
I will ask a few questions and report back

I feel like an MGB owner that's settled for middle age, polish and picnic hamper, such is the TVRCC.You can't even say s h i t on the club forum without getting a two week slap down, yet you can say 5hit in any multitude of letters and numbers to get past the swear filter and that's acceptable, as is 'effing'. Heads up arse comes to mind.

David,
You may well disagree, this is one persons opinion, but for me the mag went down hill when it changed size and became stuffed with adverts, covert or otherwise.
It was a mag I used to read cover to cover, I spend less than a few minutes with it now. It is a mag that I've said before, the club cant afford and I think it will send the club once more to an uncomfortable financial position.
Enough, let the thread get back on topic. The car club forum is the place for this, but I don't post there...as a consequence of discusiions on this very subject..Sprint.

AH! so this is where you have been hiding. You owe me an apology.
Not hiding at all. Just trying to be a part of the TVR community. Something the TVRCC forum only seems wants you to be if you fess up the rather expensive membership fee.
You know Coops, in the recent argument about opening the TVRCC forum to ALL TVR enthusiasts, I didn't realise (being a member myself at the time) that only members can view the TVRCC forum, never mind contribute. How much more damaging is this to the club one has to wonder. You've got 7600 members, of which it appears only a few hundred ever bother to read the club forum, with even less contributing, and that is the total amount of people the forum is talking to. Whatever TVR relevant stuff is written there, no one but you David and about 200 others are ever going to see it. As I regarded the forum as a primary reason for club membership, the TVRCC has lost me as a member for this very reason.
It might be of concern to the TVRCC that I too agree totally to the letter what John said regarding Sprint. A waste of club money when the TVRCC seems to place an awful lot of its pride in such a glossy publication. If ever a car club needed a wake up call into the 21st century, the TVRCC is that club. In an age where computers are king, Sprint should be online, thus freeing up club funds for other ideas, and the club forum should open its doors encouraging more to join.
As for an apology. What for? You playing club policeman? Tell you what Coops, you can have one if you can explain how 'effing' '5hit' 's
t' are permitted without comment by you club forum moderator types, but 's h i t' gets one a ban? Petty and ridiculous. See you around - no doubt at those TVR events where non club members are allowed attendance. Oh wait, that's 99% then. Ah well, the TVRCC is concentrated on publishing a glossy tome I suppose.
