My garage is full of these buggers. Anyone know? Am I going to get cocooned and eaten, Arachnophobia-style?

Or domestic spider.

Possibly...I've revised its ranking down due to it not having a herringbone pattern.

Yep, that's a False Widow alright.

Recommend flamethrower or small explosive charge.

If it breeds with a tarantula we're screwed.. I've seen a documentary... "Arachnophobia"

Apparently you have to use a nailgun and fire, lots of fire

With explosives?

I'm sure the best bet would involve taking off into orbit.

Treating it to a holiday isn't what I'd suggest, but hey, each to their own.

Can someone not invent a spider killer spray, like wasp killer spray?

I'd kill those evil buggers.

There is one, double action WD40.

either spray directly onto the offensive fellow, or onto the web.
Spiders love attention, and will come running out to greet you.
Ignite.

The spider will then adopt a submissive pose, of belly on the ground, and all legs pointing up, and then it's knees will explode.

By the size of the padlock it looks like it could be 5mm - maybe even 1cm across, weighs maybe as much as a gram yikes

WTF do people think these little creatures are going to do to them?
