Fair enough, what really does grind my gears is a faster car behind me dying to get past, then when I pull into lane 2 will go 1mph faster than me with me approaching a car in my lane thus meaning I have to brake :/

Wouldn't a chipped 330d have the edge at higher speeds - reckon a 335d definitely would.

+1 A mate of mine had a 450 Chimera (which I utterly loved btw) and it was surprising how little ground it was able to make on my old Impreza turbo. A 335d would be a pretty stiff challenge for the TVR methinks !

Possibly and very probably, and I could give an educated (simulated) guess if I knew the power/revs and torque revs of such vehicles.

Owning a chipped 535D, I'd love to have a go with him as whilst I'm sure he'd have the edge he'd be bloody surprised how quick a diesel can be

Well a Veyron would certainly be quicker, but this wasn't a Veyron, it was a 330D As for an M5, it's currently on a shortlist of one to replace the 528I when I retire her... Trouble is she is too bloody good at what she does too. She's just not that quick
