Hi all...

I'm new here (to the forums) been visiting pistonheads daily for years.

I've a question which i'd like to ask you all. I purchased a Limited edition Seamaster Professional earlier on this year (January). At the time i had the pick of the shop (Parkhouse Jewelers) and decided that the above watch was the "one" after i'd had it on my wrist. I did try the planet ocean and now think that i've made a mistake.

This is the watch (had trouble finding images)

http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk/the-watch-hut/omega/o...

Is this watch nicer than a Planet Ocean? I know it's rarer as its a limited run of the watch and it really is a nice watch to wear, with the gloss black face instead of the waves!

I'm so undecided and indecisive by nature, so am asking for advice from the people who know & own good watches (you guys) smile

What is my watch worth if i were to sell it? Should i??

Thanks in advance for any help!

You're not going to want to hear this but the 007 versions are generally not that desirable on the second hand market.
We all want to pretend we're James Bond occasionally, but having 007 on your watch once your older than 14 - not cool.

I like your seamaster over a Planet Ocean, IMHO

I would keep it if i was you as you may loose money on the watch in the short term especially if you trade it, but could be fine long term. it would be a shame to trade it.

Enjoy the watch, save up for a PO.

Andy:

While i see exactly where you are coming from i'm in no way pretending to be James Bond here! lol, the reason i bought this one is because i liked the gloss black face over the waves, i've already had an original blue SMP with waves so opted for something different.

Thanks for the reply though and your opinion is duely noted! smile

Thanks...are you sure i should keep it? I paid a lot less for it than it was advertised for in the shop. Was £2075 advertised and paid £1750 for it. So a little saving there! Would it gain value long term?

Sometimes i'm afraid to wear it just in case i wreck it.

I can't help but think a PO would be nicer, but orange bezel or not?

Thanks again for the replies!

Looking at them both side by side the PO is a nicer watch IMO. Buy the PO to add to your collection.

If you're thinking of residuals I'd go black bezel - less likely to age. If you're unlikely to sell, go for which ever you like best. The SMP & PO are both great watches, but for my money, I prefer the Speedy Pro.

black +1

I've never liked the orange but then I prefer the understated look.

+1 for the PO. I like the orange, but im biased. I can always change to a black bezel later if i get bored with the orange
