Brighton Speed Trials Results!

A Sagaris, with R888's and a 3.9 diff is quicker than a sorted Cerbera over a 1/4 - brilliant performance. Top bloke, not sure who he is, but he took my comments about "beating that bloody Sagaris" in good spirit and ran two fantastic runs, fastest being 12.67 and if my quick calculations are correct - actually won the handicap class?!! Next, TC was brave enough to join the fun too, and found out just how tricky it is to get a decent run in, hopefully he'll be back, if only to help us keep back the fight of Fubar... Ah the yellow brightonian... what can be said? The cheeky git gave us a bloody good scare and got down to a 13.14second run, we could only counter with a 12.94second/114mph run short of our personal best, but thankfully *just* enough to be fastest Cerb. Superb sports all round, I'll be joining you guys next year.
Words cannot describe the atmosphere and resultant pressure involved at the BST's - its an event that just has to be seen to be appreciated - and TVR's were represented well. Hats off to all involved, you can be proud.
Best performance goes to mr S6GON for his silly pace and potential class win, best improvement to Fubar, for scaring the hell out of us, and best sound/slide off the line - TC.
Also, not sure if he's a member here, but Dave Morris's Tuscan Racer was astonishing as always, with a personal best of 11.06 - I hope next year to witness him into the 10's - its only a matter of time, and it is easily a very low 10 second car at any proper drag strip... Beautifully prepared car, and when you consider its got 500bhp, 650bhp+ with nitrous and feck all weight/traction - you have to take your hat off to his driving skill. The fact that he is also one of the friendliest faces in the paddock just ads to the pride I feel for all of our TVR brothers.
Great event guys, I can only apologise for my father and I being pretty quiet all day, it wasnt anything personal, we just had to drive from Birmingham at 4am to get there, drive back in time to see friends here and I had managed all of 2hrs sleep the night before thanks to work.
I'll try to make more of an effort next year, if only to defend my pathetic times in a car that's proven to punch above its 370bhp weight.
BenI was well chuffed to shave half a second off of last year's time, and to lead your dad's time up to the lunch break

The Sag is Dean aka D14 AYS on here. Top effort
. I believe after the handicaps had been added he got second in class. Not bad for his first ever motorsport event.Another great day down on Brighton beach
Some of you others really should enter next year. Im hoping for a TVR only class
Oh, and TC? I think that was a decisive result, dont you?

Best sounding, definately.
I've no doubt he'll want to be back to settle the score next year... I may actually give him a few pointers if only to keep us all on our toes. Then again, if I am running... no help will be offered to anyone, beyond my advice about the secret gear named R after you apply the handbrake to select it...

:Well done to all.
How was the traction at the start line?
Why not add your results to the 1/4 table here...

Or just post your details and i will add them to the table.

Well done to the Cerbera PH contingent, I didn't get down there until after the lunch break, had a good look around the pit area, must say the event seems to be getting more popular than the last time I was there about five or so years ago.
I saw both Fubar and BCA doing runs from up on the pavement as they crossed the finish line and they both looked and sounded great, even in the company of a great variety of exotic road and track machinery the old Cerb still is an impressive car in action. There was a nice green Cerb with grey SP wheels in the pits, that was presumably TC's car?

Was good to be able to get to see this event at last .. saw you (BCA) and Jeff and shouted down to you from the viewing area above but you didnt hear me, I have pictures of the tops of your heads if you want them lol
sadly despite wandering through the paddock a few times i couldnt see you to have a chat
was a great day though, well worth getting up at 3am and driving the 8 hour round trip to get there and back. See you next year again !

Would have been great to see you there... as I said earlier, we were absolutely awful company yesterday due to sleep deprevation, so generally kept out of everyones way.
Unfortunately I am also losing my hearing like Dad, so we're both useless like that now...
Joo, give us a shout for next year, if everything works out as planned, were looking to buy a house in Brighton, so you'd be most welcome to stay with us before hand. Its the last speed trials before the body-off rebuild, though this wont effect next years trials realistically - we're thinking looong and hard about a rebuild for the engine too... its 85k old now, and we would like it to be refreshed, possibly to break the 400 barrier and more importantly hopefully rev cleanly past 7k! So may have to pick your brains a little soon Joo!

This time fella, next time I won't however take you at your word when you say that neither of us should bother adjusting our tyre pressure, only to find that you dropped yours by half

Feck it I'll take that as a small victory
Good to meet you Ben, just sorry I let the Cerb side down with rather paltry times. I think I need to do a RWYB day, somewhere where you can a good number of starts in to practice the launch - 2 runs in total and there was always a good chance I'd nouse both up, 10 or 12 runs and I might actually find one I can hook up - shame really as car was going well yesterday and felt pretty strong once (finally) under way. What did you guys run in terms of terminal speeds?
Ours was 114mph in every run, whether good or bad - we think this is down to a slight engine problem at high revs. I say slight, as its taken this level of abuse repeatedly every year for the trials and most weekends for sprints/trackdays/hillclimbs and is now 85k miles old WITHOUT rebuild.
STUNNING car.
TC - next speed trials, come and have a chat before hand, I'll try my best to help give Fubar a fight... I'd offer the same to him, but he's really getting the hang of it now and gave us a fright - bloody good show all round. Your car more than represented us well, the crowds care more about lairy starts than actual times and as I said, it easily was one of the best sounding cars there.

You cad
Yep, new personal best for Dave. We could have got a PB on our 12.94 run, but the data showed a glacial change into second?! Madness... its always the way though, we could have done with just one more run.
The third run was spoilt by big wheelspin 2.73 64ft.
We'll be beating the PB next year hopefully...
Your T420-450C would be absolutely mighty there! Again, if things work out, we may have somewhere to stay for family friends there in time for next year.
