Not sure I understand you point, he is more grey, possibly a little chubbier and maybe a little quieter but he is still very aware of what's going on in the world, not much change there, just a bit more mature in his approach I think.

Alexei Sayle was a fat unfunny communist, has he become a right wing vegetarian bible basher and part-time squirrel breeder?

Said at one standup club
"Hello, Im Alexei Sayle and im an alternative comedian....That means im not funny."

But they are all going that way. I suppose as they get older and the work starts to dry up they need and have to change their image.

In his heyday I thought Sayle was one of the best comedians out there- 'Alexei Sayles Stuff' was one of the cleverest and funniest things on TV. He's a pretty decent writer these days and if he's ageing gracefully (albeit getting greyer and fatter) rather than still trying to be a funny-fker then fair dos to him.
(He's also always been a petrolhead)

Wrote in CAR magazine for ages didn't he?

Kind of protects him from too much bile on this site surely?

Plus he came up with a quote which I still carry with me today in corporate trainingdayland:

"...Anyone who uses the term 'workshop' who isn't connected with light engineering; is a tt..."
