I'm in trouble today; I remembered our wedding anniversary.

My unforgivable crime, apparently, was not reminding her during the week of the impending celebration.

I really didn't see that coming.

Took her breakfast in bed with a card and a bottle of Champagne for later.

Face like a slapped arse.

I just could not think what I'd done wrong.

"Are you on there again?"

I've got to go now. I shall spend the day trying to build a little goodwill.

Do you think the Grand Prix might be out of the question?

I don't follow. You remembered. You brought her "breakfast in bed". She's annoyed with you?

I love being single.

Ask her to imagine how you feel and to try to reverse the situation. She'd be pissed off you forgot, so how can she justify being pissed off that you didn't?

Maybe she's just embarassed she forgot and she's trying to cause an argument to shift 'blame'.

Keep smiling, you're in the right and you know it. Enjoy the F1.

This is where you are going wrong.

You are a pussy so she can get away with any outragous and illogical behaviour.

Not only will you take it, you will try and make it up to her and also spoil your weekend by giving up watching somthing you wanted to watch.

Man the fk up

she is an attention we and you are a feeder

Good point. She's like a child. She cries so you pay her attention. Look at the "Wome" thread for more examples.

Then again, maybe I'm just saying this so that you'll be single, too. Fox who lost his tail and all that. evil

Phew, she's gone shopping.

Living with somebody else is always going to be a complex equation and normally we get along just fine. It's just these occasional unforseeable absurdities I struggle with.

My salvation is a line from As Good As It Gets when Jack Nicholson's character, an irascible novellist, is asked by an adoring female fan how he writes women so well.

"I think of a man and then I take away reason and accountability."

Or you could always navigate towards the 'The Shining'.

You showed her up. She's embarrassed and angry with herself because she forgot and you didn't, but she couldn't possibly own up to this and apologise, so she's made it your fault.

It's a bit late now, but what you should have done is feigned anger and disappointment that she had forgotten your special day, thrown the breakfast ("That I spent all morning preparing for you") at her in bed (or at the very least leave it in the oven with a note on the table) and then buggered off to play golf/walk the dog/tinker with the car while she stews and thinks about what she's done.

By going shopping, however, she's done that to you in effect.

You let her win.
