Hi,

I found a lovely 4.5 LW that i would like to import to France.

I got a copy of the V5 but information that are requested to me by the french admnistration to register the car are unfortunately not on the V5 (section U sound level and V exhaust emission) and could not find official datas on the web either.

Anyone could help in telling me where i can find such information?

Thanks

Chris

I suspect that you'll find no 'official' figures for wither of those. :-(

when cars are M.O.T'd they come with a data sheet with emission on them, i've just had mine done and the CO emission was 0.11% at idle and 0.02% at 2500-3000rpm, i can't tell you what this means in the real world but you might be able to use these figures on some clever website to come up with a useable figure.
your best bet would to be to just guess, if you can't find any figures on the matter and the fact that TVR no longer exists how are they going to tell you that your wrong, same goes with the noise level they are more than likely going to know less about the car than you, also most people are so fascinated by the car and want to have a look they are usally a little bit more helpful or willing to turn a blind eye wink
with regards to the noise, have a look at this thread: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0... it might give you some idea on the average noise levels, alot will depend on wether or not the cats have been removed.

good luck

There are some cars out there with the g/km results on the V5 (gives them grief in the UK come tax time), you could try and find one of these cars to buy.

However, this will not get you past the noise limit issue.

I think this idea has been used in principle before.

IIRC a guy called Fasial had a cerb in the US. Not sure where it was actually registered but he had to 'export' (not sure what that actually entailed) it once a year to Canada. Might be worth a search?

I understood that in the UK you can have on the V5: the person under the name the car is registered to and the name of the person owning the car and that names can be different, correct?

Provided it is correct then and I would have a relative or friends in the UK this is the way I would go for. But right now I have neither or those.

it might be easier to register it in holland or germany as moving it accross the border would be easier. i think i'm right in saying that there are a few chaps from holland with cerb's on this forum and they might be able to help you.
i have sold a chimaera and 2 x cerb's before which went to germany, i am still in contact with the bloke who's got the chimaera, i could ask him if he doesn't mind if i give you his email address if you wanted to ask some question?
