I bought one of these a long time back from ebay but recently it's stopped picking up CD's to spin them.
I can hear it trying, it gives it about 5/6 attempts then stops.

Some CD's play straight off, others won't run at all.

My questions:

It sounds great when it plays so I'd like to fix it - is it good kit and worth it?

Does anyone know what could be wrong and what I should be trying to fix? I haven't found much help on the net so thought I'd try here...
Thanks!

Transport may have lost alignment. I have had a lot of success pulling old stuff apart (that stopped working) and just cleaning and putting back together.

I had a Denon Transport replaced in a DVD-2910, it cost £120 including fitting/testing. But since you can get a DCD-715 for less than £40 on eBay, if you like the player then I'd suggest that you just buy another one.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a go taking it apart.

Is it a decent bit of kit or old and worth replacing with a brand new model?
I've seen the latest on richersounds for around £280
