Stone Chip Coatings

Hi all just finished wax oiling my chassis.General question why is stone chip not used on top of wax oil.Iknow its up to the individual. Not very pretty.But it must be purposeful.In high impact areas,If some body said its to cover up something .i think i would scream LOL.........If the last owner had taken a bit more care .Chassis is in good condition now.What are your thougths.Cheers all Mike
