Right I am having trouble adding the POIs to the map disc.

So far I have upgraded the MK4 firmware to V32, it has the day/night stuff, the speed camera on/off stuff etc etc.

But I can't seem to be able to add the POIs frown

I made the image of the disc and the used POIson to add Garmin CSV speed cams from Poiplaza.

I placed the disc in the Mk4 and went to the Nav screen and the map worked as normal.

However I can't find the speed cameras anywhere on the map and no where in the POI sections.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong here ?

Thanks for any help smile

Sorry, can't help, but I tried 12 times before giving up and returning to my TomTom instead. No matter how I tried to burn the DVD (always at 1x) or on what media, I could not get the DVD to load in the car.

Ahh I've managed to get the cd to load in the car biggrin

Are you sure you were using the correct dvd ?

Firmware wise I used this :

Pre Modded V31/v32 version (with my mods, sky, pointers and splash), This download has all the mods done and is an update so should update any OEM version of the OS on your mk4 (unless you have modded your OS already with an update done by me before).
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5RO7BIFA

It has a fully patched navboot and custom sound, "hi-beep, lo-beep, speed camera ahead", in a very similar voice to the OEM Nav.

If you use this file, jump straight to the mod the Map disc part.

Just be aware that you, personally, have no idea of the date of the speed camera database on your download!!! (I used to make & sell these DVD's until eBay banned me..).

Go to GPSWorld.com & you will be horrified that across the UK some 70+ Gatso changes occur every fortnight. Your speed camera database is only as good as what you loaded up yesterday.

Don't rely on anything you bought/downloaded off the internet!
Yaya !

Got it working..

Great, but you have still downloaded a BMW DVD map that has out of date speed camera locations... You need to know EXACTLY what you are doing (which you patently don't) & use a DVD-RW map disk that you can update when you wish.

I don't have the time nor inclination to tell you how old son but if you go to xoutpost.com & look at the SatNav posts you might possibly find out how to do it.

Use the downloaded DVD at your peril...
Do you mean keep the dvd patched and update the pcketgps cams on a monthly basis? As adding them will take about 5 seconds as the navboot and alerts etc etc is already done...

Basically - Yes. But it will take you nearer 90 minutes as you need to download the "OV2" camera database files from PocketGPSWorld then use "Ultra ISO" to add them to a copy of your SatNav DVD - that you should copy onto your PC... Then use Ultra ISO to create an ISO image to your HDD & then burn that image (at 1x !!!) to a virgin DVD-R.
That's what I've done and plan on doing with updates confused

If it takes you 5 seconds as you claim, then you are an absolute liar or an EXTREMELY clever individual.

You must post how you do it both here and on the Navigation section of the "Xoutpost.com" forum - the best BMW SatNav forum in the world...

I for one would like to know how you claim to convert an OV2 speed camera database to the BMW format on a PC/MAC then burn it to a DVD in 5 seconds!!!!! Hilarious! I know what I am doing & it takes me over 90 minutes....
Not literally 5 seconds!

Obviously burning and saving images isn't going to take 5 mins now is it...

All you need to do is use Poison to add the lates csv and then just burn it.

( I don't bother burning at 1x either as I havn't had any problems burning at half the speed.

jesus christ - calm down and get a life. All we know is that you got banned from Ebay for piracy which is NOT smart. Perhaps you could just direct your anger at only yourself going forward?
