Rev counter not working - Error 22

Has anyone had this before? There are a few other threads, but they stop suddenly without giving a solution...
When I start the car, the speedo flick fine, but the rev counter goes all the way round but then goes dead...code 22 - Tacho zero.
The fact that it goes all the way round suggests that it is connected properly. Maybe its a fuse or something?

Might be the cable connector on the back of the dials or at the ECU end. Remove cowl from steering wheel, release rake/heigh handle for the wheel, remove the two bolts under the dash pod (1 each side under where the lights/heater controls are. The clock housing will now come free. On the back there are 4 ribbon cables, 1 each for the speedo & tacho the other two connect the heater/light switches up. When I start the car, the speedo flick fine, but the rev counter goes all the way round but then goes dead...code 22 - Tacho zero.

If its not that the needle motor or chip set might be knackered. The same has happened to my speedo needle. About £200 to fix if you get the garage to remove/refit the clocks but I removed them myself & sent them away to x-works (Paul Smith) to get it done so as not to pay for fitting/removal.
Try the reset first (I don't know how to do this!) if you get stuck PM me and I can go through how to remove the clocks in more detail over the phone.
I don't think that its a motor, as the rev limiter spins completely round when I start.
It might be a loose connection in the pod.
I recently replaced the LCD due to black lines, so maybe something is loose.
I'll try the reset, then I'll check the connections...if that doesn't work, then I'll have think about what to do!
There is a setting in the LCD where the rev counter is shown there. I got it once by mistake, but dont' know if I can find it again. this it was showing instead of the mph though.
I'll sort it out on the weekend.

Yes...it was working fine after I replaced the LCD.
Maybe somethings just come loose at the back, but I definately put it back together well.

Has anyone solved this?
1) Switch ign on so the dials sweep
2) Using steering wheel buttons go to the settings menu
3) Select option #8 'Service'
4) You will see several options two of which are 'Speedo Zero' & 'Tacho Zero'
5) Select the dial you want to zero & using the buttons on the wheel adjust the value until the needle is in the correct position.
6) Exit menu and the dials will sweep again to the correct resting position.
Just got my dials back from Paul Smith today. Going out for a drive now!!!!!
