does anyone remember some time in the early 80's, 83 i think there was a one off 3D program on tv.
it was heavyly promoted at the time and you got the glasses with either the tv or radio times.
none of my friends remember it but i can definatly remember a black and white owl flying out of the screen.

I do remember it. I had measles at the time and the only thing I remember in 3D was an arrow flying out of the screen.

It was a massive disappointment biggrin

Didn't they show a black and white cowboys and indians film in 3D? I seem to remember something along those lines.

I remember that. We didn't have the Radio/TV Times, so I improvised by making the glasses lenses from coloured sweet wrappers.

It worked, but I seem to recall it not being worth the effort. frown

doesn't work so well if you are red-green colourblind frown

Was there not a Jaws 3D around the same time?

Was there something early-90's, possibly linked to Comic Relief, where they had the bad 3-D plus 'smellovision' - scratch and sniff cards to do at points during the program / evening to see what Albert Square etc smelt like. Exactly the same as everything else on the card, as it happened.

Having re-read this, I'm beginning to think I've imagined it entirely and that my parents may have spent a lot of my childhood feeding me narcotics...

I remember that (think it was Children in Need rather then Comic Relief though). They had a Blue Peter episode with lifeboats IIRC which did impress me if I'm honest.
