60%, eh? I call bullst. (Or at least manipulation of the figures.)

It will just be an excuse to generate revenues from drivers who sneak above 30mph in a 30 zone by 1mph.

Technically, 60% could be correct, but I would bet that if 60% is a true figure, 58% of this figure will be the jobsworth's who don't drive, or if they do are a danger to road users themselves anyway.

People questioned about this will more than likely be people who don't drive or are referring to their frustrations from a non-road using point of view anyway. The vast majority of complaints that seem to occur are from residents who have nothing else to do but to comment on parking or speeds through residential areas, some of which are true in terms of speed, but a lot which are not. Suprisingly, i haven't seen many (if any) 21-40 year olds sitting by the roadside in a yellow hi-vis jacket waving a speed detector at you as you pass them at 25 mph...
