Another radiator question

Morning all,

This weekend I attempted to sort out the coolant leak I've got on the wedge (350i) (which developed after fitting working pressure caps), and it turns out my radiator is pretty much shagged so I need to order a new one.

My question is this, in addition to the two large unions does anybody elses radiator have a much smaller (5mm-8mm) union in the top right corner of the radiator? Reason I ask is that looking at photos on the internet I can't find one which does.

Assuming that no-one else does I can probably just ignore it when I order a new rad.

Yes wombat,my rad has this small tube on top left hand side of looking from the front of the car / top right from the drivers seat. Its only about 8mm and the connecting pipe runs to the bottom header tank connection facing towards the engine,tank is up on nearside behind wheel arch
