Hi!

Birthday this Thursday and gonna take a few work mates out for tea!

We all live in canary wharf so has to be commutable from there via tube

Looking for one of these places where you get the chef in middle of table or get your steak on a black rock etc.

Just something a bit different for a exiteing dinner!

And I would like it to be reasonable, say 20-30 a head max

Any suggestions?

Thanks

My Old Place, a chinese restaurant in Liverpool St.

crazy pots of bubbling stew, things that come cold which you expect to be hot, and hot that you expect to be cold.

its not expensive so maybe just tally up £20 each and ask the waiters to recommend the menu...

Bit different?

I'd go for St john and get the whole roast pig thing they do.

Or head to dans le noir for something really interesting http://www.danslenoir.com/london/

Although finding anywhere fun for 20-30 people in 3 days time is probably going to be tricky!

Go here and cover all major food groups:

http://www.bodeansbbq.com/

You can almost get aall major food groups on one plate of:

Chicken
Pork
Beef
Lamb

Sadly they are lacking the Lamb bit, so only 3 major food groups.

Tho do expect meat sweats the day after.

A friend recently went to a restaurant in London (forget the name, Ill ask him) where they sit you at the table, they ask what your allergic to so they don't kill you. and the whole place is PITCH BLACK. all the waiters are blind, so can navigate around just fine.

Apparently you taste the food much better as you have to rely on other senses (you get served random meals that you have to work out what it is (nice food though) - he said is was an amazing experience....but finding the bathroom was fun.

sounds a laugh!

Was going to suggest that one, but you are talking of circa £50 a person and above for that.

Think last time it came in at just over £200 for 4 of us.

That will be Dans la Noir. Has been suggested already. I have heard that the waiting staff in the Japan restaurant have night vision goggles, i don't know how being blind will help you get around in there, surely being blind or not you will end up in someones food/lap trying to get to the lav!! I would also be a bit worried what i am eating to be honest.

I think it's Benihana where they cook at the table.
Thankyou, just the ticket! They have a deal on atm too, £19 for 7 courses

Bonus

Just booked a table!
