We have an item listed with a Buy It Now price of £29.99, with the option to make an offer.

Along comes Mr R E Tard, who offers £33.00.

Not wishing to take advantage of the hard of thinking, we try to contact him to point out the fundamental error in his bargaining strategy...

But ebay blocks the message because they think we're trying to do a deal behind their back..

Accept and you can reduce the price when you send the invoice. Try and explain 29.99 is less than 33.00 when you do this, but the scammer might still want you to take the higher amount as it will be clawed back by paypal anyway.....

He probably thinks its an auction so has bid the amount he is prepared to pay. All you have to do is accept what he is happy to pay and there is no harm done.

Did you have Post and Packing included in the 29.99 amount? If not he may have included the P&P amount with his offer. However why not just use the buy it now function? Muppet
