Hi just opened the Ecu up as you do, can I plug in to that 9 pin on the board ? for the diagnostics as I only seem to have a 2 pin plug on my loom,

Also I took the cats off at the weekend now it runs like s++t on tick over and the MIL lights on all the time Ooooh I love this new ownership lol

Yeah the nine pin is for the diagnostic lead.
Did you move/touch the lambda sensors when you took the cats off?

Yup, thats the puppy. standard serial lead plugs right into that socket, make sure you have quite a long cable though as you will need to be able to see the laptop when standing by the engine bay swearing and burning your fingers.

Get the cable and laptop software and see what is is saying for the lambdas. I think the maplin cable will work ok, if not some TVR parts places sell em. ( I had mine made at work) The drawing for the cable and the software are available on the Clever Trevor download site.

Just a standard serial to serial cable should be fine, if your laptop is old enough to have a serial port. Some members experience problems when using a serial-usb cable, though you can usually get around these by playing with the port settings.

ECU software is now here - http://www.thetvrsite.com/ecu-diagnostic-software
There is also a diagram for the cable on there too.
