First of all today I heard that Keith Floyd had taken his last drink at the bar and now it seems Patrick Swayze has had his last dance too.

My missus was only saying how well he was battling it and how well he looked last week. Her uncle had the same cancer and went downhill very very quickly.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. My nan died from it and she was diagnosed around the same time, apparently by the time they find that one it's too late so he held out pretty well.

20 months I think he lasted. Typically life expectancy is measured in weeks after diagnosis.

Saying that I'm dealing with a chap's paperwork at the moment who has only just died after about five years. Just goes to show there's a lot of variability that occurs.
