grrr my first broken thing and it is looking like trouble. the passenger window does not work cause there is a small plastic slider on the up down arm ( actually there are 3 in there) and the plasic is broken. Now the arm is not attached to the rail on the glass....

seems the Lotus part is only with the entire window Motor, and grearbox and arms... and costs a fortune..
where can I get the lousy 10 cent plastic bit?
and body got a used motor assembly? or parts car?
let me know

Hi there, have a search on window motors in this forum, by memory the motor and some components are off a earlier Jag which you can get from a wrecker if you have one near by. The plastic bits you are talking about may be the same, not sure? Have a look anyway.
Cheers

I'll search here for a while, dont really need anything till spring.. cold and snowy here now so I wont be crawling through a wrecker trying to pry off small plastic things,,, sounds too much like an exercise in frustration

If you are talking Stevens Esprit, you need the window regulator assembly off a Jag. Right side Jag for your left side Esprit and vice versa. An 1989 XJ6 or XJS are probably about right. Not sure what year it changed in Esprits, if it did.

Bojangles,

Like you, I couldn't bear the thought of buying a whole new motor assembly just to replace a brittle nylon plastic part. Call Jeff at JAE (805) 967-5767 and tell him the part you need. I already sourced these little plastic parts and gave him all the info so that he could stock them for us. Just tell him that Karl from the Esprit Fact File sent you.

Cheers.
