It looks like the V8 thermostat is getting a little hard to get hold of. Anyone know if one can be sourced from anywhere else? I believe some old Lancia uses the same one?

Should be listed in the replacement parts thread but any motor factors should stock or be able to supply.

Think it's a Lancia Delta.

the OE fit wahler stats are getting hard to get hold of, but not impossible at the moment - try keith at clever trevor. there are pattern parts available including lower temps stats but all the ones ive seen so far have smaller thermostats inside so outright water flow may be compromised. Ive got a shelf full of the small hole versions but havent dared fit one to a cerb yet ... ive got a few wahler ones aswell but im hanging on to those smile

I'm getting confused here. The picy of the one to avoid, is this just because the stat opening is slightly smaller, or do they fail more often?

Also do the OE ones fail often?

I was only aware of the lower opening temp, which would not be good on cars used daily in colder temperatures as they run too cold on the open road, but should be fine if its just a sunny sunday car.

But Joo mentioned there smaller internally which may restrict water flow, im not sure as ive never seen one in the flesh to compare.
