I work for a similar firm. Did they not ask for expenses receipts etc? A few receipts I can understand - over 500k seems bizarre

As finance director maybe he could bypass the formalities?

Its a huge accountancy firm - with proceedures and policies in place. Unless he was the senior partner in charge of finance
