Take a look at the front suspension in pic 5 here. Neither the suspension nor the engine bay/footwell look like a Caterham.

That is not a Pinto either.
Is it a Caterham or a Westfild or 'Locaterfield'?

I'd say it's an MK.

Looks exactly like a Caterham to me, everything about it. No other similar kit is that small...MK, Westfield, MNR etc are all much bigger.

Well I must be out of touch, because that doesn't look like the Caterham front top wishbone arrangement to me.

Looks like a Caterham to me. But as you say the top wishbones don't look right.

Yes it looks exactly like a Caterham except:-
1. The front suspension is all wrong
2. There are two top diagonal rails in a Caterham chassis engine bay
3. Caterhams have extended footwells in front of the bulkhead (except the passenger side on racers)
4. The pedal box cover is all wrong
5. The chassis plate is in the wrong place

I could be doing the seller an injustice........

The front wishbone / sierra upright setup looks to be MK derived, but a lot of other details do look like Caterham.

Agree, when I looked the front wishbones look like early MK ones.

Then again, if you feed the registration into the DVLA database and give them 'Caterham' as the manufacturer, it comes back 'no records found', which tends to imply that it's not registered as a Caterham, either?

And if you put M K as the manufacturer................?

Interesting! Definately a Caterham transmission tunnel and dash.

One thing I will say for whoever built that car...they have absolutely no idea how a catch tank should be mounted.

Did MK ever make a wide track suspension kit for Caterhams? I know GTS made wide track wishbones for Westfields.

It looks like an early MK chassis in that case, because it has Cortina hubs and that suggests an older MK Locost chassis which they haven't really built for years.

^^ Yep and even worse than that the early MK lower wishbones will bend sooner or later!

Someone has spent a lot of time and effort to make that look like a Caterham - a waste IMHO.
