I think we all agree it looks like a fat Vectra and has the sole of a small beetle, as such lets just stop reminding owners of their short sightedness.

I think the only way to solve this problem would be to split the forum; A Monaro/ HSV GTO forum, and a VXR8/ HSV Clubbiscuit R8 31078 forum.

Why do the bashing in the first place?
Looks are subjective, I personally like them and so do most people I know.
If people take the mick and some inevitably will, they call it a giant astra, but then again they called the Monaro a giant Calibra.
I moved from a Monaro VXR to the VXR8 and heavier it may be, but in std form IMO the vxr8 is faster and handles a lot better.
On the road it feels smaller and more chuckable than the monaro.
The LS3 engine is a real peach.
I loved my Monaro but I would not go back.

I just don't like it when people start adding tea trays to the rear of cars to 'assist' with handling deficiencies.

even the vectra managed to put up a fight even though the odds were stacked against it. Talking of odds stacked against it, 6.2ltr vs 5.7. My starter motor is bigger

and as for tea trays to aid with handling deficiencies ->

You could host a 12 course meal on that (which is a starters for such a flabby motor!) wink

Looked a bit more like a Monaro when the tank had finished.

Looks like the thread titles "WE NEED TO STOP WITH THE VXR8 BASHING" and "I'M STOPPING WITH THE RO BASHING" were a waste of time then. rolleyes
