I have always had "success" with a Mushroom Risotto. I used the BBC recipe and it always comes out amazing.

Plus as a bonus you get to drink the rest of the vino that doesnt go into the mix smile

Mussels (in a bag so real quick and easy) - with a crisp white

Then Pasta - quick, easy and romantic - with a nice red

Tarte Citron or Tarte Tatin - out of a box (Waitrose do a lovely one) - Maybe a lovely desert wine

with ragrds to her fav food, she doesnt gove much away tbh! shes doesnt like mussels but does like some other fish (had sea bass when i took her out) im no big fan of salmon though!

i know she likes a nice rose wine though! hehe

had thought about the risotto route, also tempted by something like chicken cocovan? dunno if i can be bothered with a starter as such, she doesnt eat that much, but maybe somthing to nibble on before hand? (apart from me hehe)

I assume you mean Coq au vin?

Are you sure you're not a Master Chef? hehe

Something like Coq au Vin would be good as you can leave it cooking and it doesn't need constant attention like a risotto does. You can concentrate on the other courses/her/working your way trhough a bottle of fizz (delete as appropriate)

or mussels, but she likes a nice rose wine though!

Sounds like a food nighmare waiting to happen than one.

Shepherds Pie, Goulash(sp?) with crusty bread and butter.

Fresh berries with melted white chocolate poured over before serving (sweet sticky and messy mmmm)

A lavish platter of decent cold hams (palma, serrano etc), pates, olives and some good crusty bread usually goes down pretty well with my missus. It's quick, easy & leaves lots of time for making a little love wink

Don't forget, keep it light. You don't want to fill her up too much...

Not until after the meal anyway...

Eton Mess for dessert; light, easy, cheap. A bit like your g/f really! wink

Don't go too mad with dessert. Some women don't like sickly sweet stuff with lots of cream on it (I'm one.)
