Need to book London Eye Tickets on a Monday afternoon?

Do you think there is a need to book tickets for a Monday afternoon (next week) or just rock up and queue for a bit?

Been years since I've been on it, but if you book, you could collect from a machine, so only had to queue once - rather than queue for a ticket and then queue to get on it...

Take a champagne flight instead of queing:

Go to the "fast track" section, book a champagne flight (IIRC £35 instead of £15 - there's one every hour - then go next door to the bar of the Marriot County Hall hotel for a quick livener & some nibbles.

When you come back to meet your guide/waitress they'll take you past the long line of people waiting for a regular "flight" & straight into a capsule that you only share with others who've booked the champagne trip.

You can also (pre)order a 2nd glass for an extra £8........

No, a "fast track" ticket which avoids queing is £25.

So 10 quid to avoid queing or 20 for the same + a glass of bubbly or 28 for no queues + 2 glasses.

Much more civilised.

we went last Thursday and I booked on line that morning to save queueing to buy the tickets, as it turned out it wasn't necessary as there wasn't much of a queue in the sales bit. Did save us 10% though. Not much of a queue to get on the eye either walked straight to the top and got in the 2nd capsule to come. a little later we went past and there were more queueing but still probably ten or fifteen minutes worth.
