Exige S2 Warranty
Discussion
Quick questions to those with experience with the Exige S2 N/A's (111R engines) with regards to reliability. I bought mine last week and it has 15,000 miles on it. I know people say since it has a Toyota engine it has to be bullet proof etc but wanted to see people's opinions on this from experience?
Lotus have quoted a warranty (not including clutch, tyres etc etc) for around £799 for 1 year or £1099 for 2 years (including the £100 inspection fee). But I don't know how expensive things are to fix in the Exige S2 NA and what is likely/unlikely to go wrong.
Question to you guys is is it worth it in your opinions or are they acutally pretty reliable and costs in a year may cost the same anyway? Any input from experience would be greatly appreciated...

Mine is approaching 5yrs old and apart from a Steering rack problem that was sorted out under warranty, all the work done on my car has been pure maintenance and the occassional bodywork repair :-(
£800 for a year will most probably cover just about any work you were likely to have to pay out for anyway. So I'd say not worth it.

Are you me Beachbum? Mine's 4 years old and has had a steering rack under warranty and a small clam repair!! Oh and a throttle cable under warranty too.
Apart from that, standard maintenance and the odd upgrade have been the only 'extra' cost.
I don't think it's worth the price quoted, but maybe the AA one might make give you peace of mind. Although I believe the failure has to prevent you from continuing the journey in order to be covered. If your heater packs up etc, it may not be covered.
