I have been having various sorts of splutters with the Cerb recently, and a number of threads on here had proposed various solutions. The principal issues were a lack of willingness to rev when hot, and occassional roughness from 5000+, also a very marked flat spot and rough running at around 2000 revs.

I took a bit of a punt and asked my Indie to replace the coil packs while the car was having some other work done, and WOW!

The car is silky smooth by comparison, sweet revving and I can feel the extra pull all the way through the range. I'm a very happy bunny!

thank you, Fernies!

I've had a slight flat-spot in the midrange (accompanied by rich running) for a little while, and last weekend I noticed it developing into a slight misfire. New plugs already in, and new HT leads sitting on the shelf. As soon as GSF sort themselves out and get my new coils delivered I'll bang everything in, along with a new big fuse, and hopefully everything will be hunky dorry.

What are your opinions of the GSF (citroen/peugeot) coil packs compared to the more expensive bosch ones? Are the cheap ones just as good?

I have used both types of coil packs and based on dyno readings a week apart they make no difference to the spark or power - so dont worry about it

However, I don't know if its the heat or bad luck but I've had both types too and the french ones lasted a couple of months before misfires came on, it was replaced by a German one and that has lasted over a year now.
I'm sure at GSF they are supplied with both so IMHO its worth asking to view a few boxes over the counter and pick the german ones out.
