LT77 Gearbox rebuild

If you're having it rebuild it's worth having uprated bearings fitted as they are the weak spot. Steve Heath used to do this to put 500bhp through them. You might try a search on the Wedges forum to find out more.

If buying an LT77 beware that there are several different revisions, best to go for the lattest letter in the serial number, I think an 'F' or 'G' rings a bell but memory is a little hazy... The older ones are much stronger internally.

yes get the layshaft bearing uprated, and tell them not to put PAS fluid in their,ive spent over 1k and yet have to yet change the fluid to either SMXS or another fluid which im looking into on yesterdays thead, had over 1 year of hassle, you could upgrade to a T5, it would of been cheaper for me in the long run, but i like the Ratios in the Lt77, a bit more exiting i think?
