best guide books?
Discussion
now that im not a backpacker, I find the lonely planet and the rough guide to be not very satisfactory. When I'm in a foreign country I don't want to eat pizza and chips, or stay in a youth hostel, so their listings are about 50% irrelevant - although the rest of the info is pretty good.
What's the opinion on the best guide books out there now?

Rough Guide don't just cater for the hostel and pizza and chips market though. Some of the best meals I've had have been thanks to a RG recommendation.
Just steer clear of their "cheap" options.
Quite often when you get places hotels have guide books that can be handy as well though, so worth checking them out. Asking the hotel staff where is good is handy as well.
Just make sure you ask the girls where they'd want taken if money was no object, or the guys where they'd go to impress a lady.
