If Leeds is a must then Porschetek is the best in Leeds, avoid Strasse at all cost....lots of horror stories.

If you dont mind a bit of travelling then Porscheuro is the place to go....mine goes there and I live in Halifax. John is a great guy and the value for money he gives is great.

I'll recommend Porsche Euro. Used him with the 355.

Up in the Grim North again Phil?

I would recommend, through personal experience with both servicing my first Ferrari and looking after the 911, including rebuilding the gear box … STRASSE.

Top guys, ask for Dave Forrest. Only a few mins from the city centre too. Do a street map search and I'm sure a certain young lady will know exactly where they are smile

I am also a long time customer of Strasse, and would recommend them without hesitation.
I have purchased two 911's from them, and they have done all servicing and maintenance work on my Porsches for the last 12 years.

To balance things out. Strasse didn't seem interested when I went round to see about a 48k service so I took it up to Specialist Cars in Malton for the work to be done.

Strasse, or however you spell it.

Took mine in for MOT, sorted out my front number plate which was dropping off, at no charge.

Andy - Dave can seem a bit brusque at first which, granted should not be the case in a service industry but, on recommendation I still used them and soon realised that first impressions can be deceiving. He is a nice guy who will go out of his way to help, along with the rest of the team.

But its first impressions that make you decide this bloke doesn't want my custom and if thats how they treat you before they get your money then what will they be like after and how will they care for my pride and joy.

You only have to read BoXa.net to see the amount of people that wont be going back.....I did my research before buying my Boxster and I tried one guy Porscheuro, on recommendation, and my car wont be going anywhere else. The car goes in for brakes he's done something else that he spotted. The car goes in for engine light being on and he tells me I have a CV boot splitting and amazingly he will do it for half anyone elses price.

It shows attention to detail and care for the customer. The number plate thing would be a no brainer.....I think if they hadn't spotted it and sorted it I would have gone spare.

Just shows that there are always two sides to every story smile

Dave at Strasse has gone out of his way by some way (Goole to pick up my 911 and recover it back to Leeds and didn't charge me as he was over in Selby anyway), on a few occasions with both the Porsche and Ferrari.

Al, granted, I know you've been happy with them but it is first impressions. The posts that recommend them generally seem to be long term customers and few, if any, new customers.

I went in to see them looking to spend the best part of £800 on a 48k service, that the car didn't really need, just for peace of mind as I wanted to be sure it was in top fettle or at least know how much it would be needing to get there. They just really didn't seem interested in my business which is fine and I'm sure they're doing well to be able to unwittingly turn away potential customers like that.

In contrast, I emailed Specialist Cars, (dealt with them through markmullen), he replied to me while he was at Le Mans watching the racing. Everything was friendly, questions were answered quickly, work was done on time, etc. I'll be back for future servicing and work.

Each to his own though, it's good that there's enough Indys round Yorkshire area to have the choice that we do.

I'd recommend John at Porsche and Eurocar, uses all porsche parts and mobil 1 oil... Serviced my 987 Boxster recently at a fraction of the cost of OPC. OPC leeds quoted me £900 for the service, PECAR did it for £300 and even fited my own pads free of charge. He'll also give out free advice over the phone if you're having problems.

Also consider Carlton Porscha at Birstall (10 mins from Leeds City Centre). They have been a Porsche Indie since the early 70's.
