Spectraflair dark blue?

Hello All,

My first post back on pistonheads for a while, and here i go looking for advice straight off!

I was wondering if any of you knew whether its possible to get a "spectraflair" finish on a dark blue type colour?

Also does on pearl this up too? Or is it blingy enough as it is?

I'm on the very brink of tuscan mk1 purchase and am investigating "stuff I'd like to get done over the winter".

You can get spectraflair pretty much anything - look at "Rage Extreme" paints, for I think that was who marketed the colour. It's basically a semi-clear coat with the spectraflair particles which is applied over a base coat, then lacquered. You can also mix colours into the spectraflair to get stronger colours.

Be warned though; I believe the spectraflair paint costs around £600 a litre, and you need something like 5 litres to spray a whole car. I was told I needed a couple of litres just for a front end respray on my spectraflair silver Tuscan, so I have learned to live with stone chips!

i have a blue tuscan with spectraflair paintwork, on a dull day the paint looks almost flat blue, but, oh but when the sun comes out it comes alive with colour!

when you choose a dark blue with 1% of spectraflair it will lighten it slightly, when it is dull you would have to take a good look to see it, but in the sun it looks realy good and not over the top.

i'll give you a price to push you back away from the edge
you'll pay at least 4000gpb for the job and the moment you open the hood or trunc you'll see a difference in colour
besides that people don't tend to buy a resprayed car (other colour)
the first thought is (cat c or d)
so it's a hughe investment in a tuscan 1 (in my country we call this a well investment/ well = like something deep with water in it)
if you want to do something and spend money in the winter ! have a rebuild, other shocks and springs, new rubber, cat removal and a chip. but that would be sensible

Well we'll see what I can afford!

Rens - I'm very lucky in that I've bought a great pistonheader's car - its been carefully looked after and upgraded, so other than some rubber and TC (I know, I know) there's very little serious stuff that I need to get done!

And some ridedrive come spring. And maybe a OMEX engine management unit upgrade.. and new billet crakshaft... ooh and...

(Well little serious stuff ignoring the slight off road activity I had on day one resulting in some extended time in glassfibre hospital... ouch! )

That looks like spectraflash rather than spectraflair judging by the size of the flakes
