I'm now having a real nightmare here. Earlier I was trying to take the battery out and the alarm kept going off. As a result the battery was dis/re connected a few times. Having spoken with Cooky I was on my way to try his suggestion. As I opened the door the alarm went off so I pressed the fob button and it stopped.

It was then I discovered that even though the alarm activates/de-activates the doors no longer lock. They stay un-locked all the time. Also the green LED by the ashtray use to flash when the alarm was active. Now it's off.

Any ideas as the car has to be outside at the moment and I am far from happy leaving it un-locked all night!

The alarm is part of the "locking" circuit so from what you are describing it most likely is something that's been caused by the battery being disconnected.

I'd be suggesting a quick call to Carl Baker and he may be able to tell you the quick fix over the phone.

Oh, and for what it's worth, if you can't fix it and need to lock it for the night just shut the doors and disconnect the battery again and remove it from the car.

Try arming & disarming via key fob repeatidly and pretty quickly.

I had this exact same thing happen to me, but I just faffed around and it worked again - maybe try hitting the internal door lock button too from inside aswell a couple times smile

Only if I could. The dam alarm still won't shut up if I disconnect the battery.

Now I have some more info. The green LED is now flashing fast which the book says indicates a fault with the locking unit....OH joy! Also the alarm flashes 4 times when you arm it, and I can't get rid of this. I;ve had the ignition on and off which the book says will clear it but no joy ther. Still 4 flashes of the indicators.

PS I don't have the tele No for the chap U mention.

Try leaving the battery connected and disconnect/reconnect the alarm unit (large white plug under it).

Give the door emergency release handles a pull and make sure they are returned, if their not fully reset can upset the locking.

Hi - had this one before and this is what worked for me...

Disconnect the battery - reconnect and hold down the remote button for the first 20/30 seconds while it re-establishes connection with the car.

Then it all worked fine for me :-)

Yup ditto. Did this when I had the battery disconnected.

My alarm flashes 4 times when arming/locking.

Unfortunately none. I spent my time this weekend getting a space in the garage, which is where it sits at the moment (in shame). Got the alarm to finally shut up by getting the key into the siren box and turning it off. Batteries on charge now and I'll have to look further into the matter during the week. Regards
