Can you be convicted for driving the wrong way down a one way street, even though there was no 'do not turn left' signs and the only 'no entry' sign was bent around?
I was just wondering as i know you can get off a parking ticket if the double yellow line is broken, but would sufficient evidence that the one way street was not marked corectly, mean you could just tear the FPN up. Also if you were given a FPN for this, and you disputed it in court, how much would it cost in court fees etc, would it be worth while, or would you be better off just paying it?
Thanks in advance

That said, if the signage is that poor then there is plenty of evidence to show that you didnt know or couldnt have known - they have to throw it out. I wouldnt tear up the NIP or anything else. But what I would do is take lots of photos of the route you took and prove that you didnt see any signs (or were obscured). Offer the evidence to whoever and see what happens - if they decide to prosecute anyway, take your evidence with you, a decent lawyer and a change of trousers (just in case).
What ever you do - dont ignore the NIP though.

One way Streets brought in by an Order - LA should let you see a copy that contains some information.
Has to be signed with signs authorised by Sec of State and as per Traffic Signs and General Directions 2002.
From what you say it is incorrectly signed so you seem to be home and dry if you have incurred wrath.
As advised get photo's so nobody in the middle of the night rectifies the signing defect.
If you have been nabbed write off and tell them so that you stop the nonsense straight away.
DVD
PS. The Regs Cost 40 notes but Public Library if any good will have a copy.
