A bit off the cuff this but was thinking maybe a set off from the Cheshunt Travelodge (6:30 - 7:00am) on the A10 just off Jct25 of the M25 then heading up the A10 and onto A507 @ Buntingford towards Baldock & Clophill etc and then see what happens after that
