I have a confession to make.

[stands up] My name is Barry and I've just taken delivery of the first five series of "Friends" in all their DVD boxset loveliness. [sits down]

In my defence, they were cheap (£4.99 or £5.99) and I was drunk.

But surely I can't be the only bloke who's a closet (bad choice of word) Friends fan?

Could I be any more gay?

You could. It could be Sex in the City, or Desperate Housewives, or Will and Grace... the list is pretty endless. Friends in the grand scheme of things is a pretty mild offence smile

Freinds is just innofensive comedy, it looks a bit lame nowadays but it provided plenty of entertainment in the '90's.

In its defense it has:

An episode with a Porsche

and

...who I would tap like a demented woodpecker.

[I'm not gay really but it seems like it]

What's wrong with Friends? It's a pretty funny show.

Hell, where did you get them from for that price, I need a couple of series...

Play.com; the first 5 series are at bargain prices, but the later ones jump up to £9.99, so I'm waiting to get the rest.

Wouldn't get the box set even if it was free.

I don't think I have ever watched an episode in entirety when it was on TV. It is nothing to do with being afraid to embrace my "feminine" side either. I watched and quite enjoyed the occasional episodes of Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives.

Friends just wasn't funny, not even a little bit. Couldn't even laugh *at* the stupidity of the characters/script.

Nope, not funny at all.

Friends is just background tv - you watch it without really thinking and can just absorb bits and pieces of it.

Nothing wrong with it mind, after a hard day down the mines, a bit of friends, a pina colada and a bit of celine dion on the cd player is everything a red blooded male wants.

Most of America would disagree.....

LP7 - admit it, you weren't drunk were you, not even a little bit?

FWIW, I enjoyed it when it was in it's heydey ,but having seen virtually every episode now several times, it no longer appeals like it once did. Familiarity breeding contempt, possibly? (Contempt a bit strong ,more like dis-interest)

Nothing wrong with Will and Grace, funny and well written with proper characters. The final episode was hilarious. Friends was funny but lost it in the last few seasons I thought. Everybody loves Raymond was hilarious too.

Only the first three series though. It wasn't the same without Jeff.

"Most of America would disagree....."

Most of America would disagree with many of my opinions. Still doesn't make Friends even remotely amusing though. Popular and profitable?, most definitely.

Grey's Anatomy is good, although I've just finished the 3rd season and it was f**king dire, Season 4 is looking good though.
