Autocar on the Bathurst S and the Skoda Superb
Discussion
Steve Sutcliffe from this week's issue:
"And what of the Bathurst S? Given that it's named after Australia's coolest car race and has 569bhp supercharged V8 powering its rear wheels, it should, in theory be even more superb than the (Skoda) Superb. But in reality it doesn't turn out like that because, in reality, the Bathurst is a curiously disappointing thing to drive. I thought I'd love this car, just as much as I thought I'd be bored to tears by the Superb. but in practice it's the other way round. Despite its monsterous exhaust note and thundering performance, the Bathurst is a crude old thing at heart, a car that has failed to keep up with the times. From its vague steering to its peculiarly unrefined rear axle (which judders like an ancient power tool at high revs), it feels like a car from yesteryear. And that's before you even mention its Tonka Toy interior, truck-like grarbox or its overstyled, underdesigned exterior. With hindsight, perhaps they should have called it the Vauxhall Old Barge Power Randy. Or something like that. At least then the sense of disappointment wouldn't be quite so obvious. And that's just not an issue with the Skoda Superb".

either that or he is getting paid very well
I think the man has mental issues. I mean how on God's green un can anyone possibly prefer something called the "Skoda Superb" over a raw fire breathing V8 Beast????????
And i don't care if we have people from the "Skoda" forums coming on here talking crap about how great their cars are. Each to there own but get real FFS.
