I have the same problem, the fumes are noticeable even with the roof off and they get even worse if I turn on the fan for the heater so I assume it is drawing air from the engine bay. I have been up to the far North west of Scotland and back(450 miles) over the last two days and it was a choice of freeze to death or turn on the heater and be gassed by fumes.
Open the hood/bonnet look at the "box" peice across the top.
Air is drawn in from the vent at the top of the hood for the ventilation system, if this box section has "holes" in it it will also draw air from engine bay.
Or of course if the hole in hood does not seal with the hole in the body.
This will only be a problem if you drive with top up.
Penance for driving with the top up is to repeat the firing order ten times.

350i wedge fumes are very bad no leaks on exhaust any ideas thanks
Some possibilities- Your Mixture has suddenly turned too rich and you are simply noticing the change to seriously noxious emissions smell-wise, as it were. To diagnose, check the colour of your spark plugs. If sooty, something is wrong with the Efi system.
- you have an air leak into the car interior thro' a stuck open ventilation vent at the rear,
- something has changed with the aerodynamics of your car (new spoilers etc)
- the exit position of your exhaust pipe has been changed.
Food for thought?

I had this problem with my first Wedge a 350, after a lot of pizzing about I found the fumes were in fact being sucked into the boot and then into the cabin through the corners of the boot behind the speaker / seatbelts. If you take out part of the boot carpet you will find small or sometimes large access holes from the boot to the area at the rear of the speakers, on top of the wheel arch. I carefully filled all the holes with fiber glass and just for good measure filled the cabin side with expanding foam and replaced the boot seal, an afternoons work and no more streaming eyes or hallucination. It was amazing that before these mods it was worse with the roof down …. All to do with free airflow me thinks.
Hi,
I have only limited experience with my 350i, done just over 100 miles in it since I bought it in April.
When it was going I was getting out of the car stinking of oil and fumes. I put mine down to the fact both head gaskets had blown, pressuring up the valley and blowing oil and fumes out the timing cover. I'm hoping its gone away when I finally get to drive it again ... hope your luck is better than mine.
Regards,
BBT.
