After nearly two years, a lot of grazed knuckles, and some fairly frustrating times, my 205 GTI is finally back on the road and is in rude health. So I decided to go out and take some pictures of it.

I was going for a look here which I think I've achieved... Not sure it is to everyone's taste but here you go:

Hope you like them, I'm just happy to be back in the car enjoying the tin can feel and rattly interior!

That looks very nice, I think the photo's have come out a little dark as its not very clear that its green.

The only criticism I would have of the car is that the ride height looks a little higher then standard? It looks like a lovely car though, well restored biggrin

Good looking car, not sure what look you were going for other than standard?

Ride height looks good to me, that front arch gap looks about the same as mine on Eibach Pro springs which are meant to be -30mm. Remember these cars rode very high as standard.

I had an F-reg one back in 1988/1989 from new as a company car. It was white and I put 60k miles on it in 18 months. It was a fantastic car and the build quality was great. With 60k on it it was still like new.

People always think the car is black - it's very dark looking in most light. Ride height is standard - it's still on the original springs and shocks as far as I can tell! It's just that most cars left on the road have been lowered now.

Thanks John - what with your RS there is a hot hatch revival going no around here!

Sorry, the look I was talking about was the photos rather than the car. Although I did choose yellow driving lights for that authentic French look, but that's the extent of cosmetic changes on the car!

Some great photos- your car looks absolutely mint. now get out there and drive it lots and make it mucky again! tongue out

Really like the flare over the dash photo, and the shallow dof with the car looking at the road ahead

Thanks Fordo! I'm working on muckying it up already.

I'd forgotten what the lift-off oversteer in this car can be like, it certainly is a bit more quick to bite back than I've gotten used to recently. I can forgive the rattles and creaks for now, and I've got something new on the way (as soon as I can find the right car) so the 205 will go back to weekend duties then.
