ok here,s one for any communication wizard,s. we run a performaire pager system which we run off a 70amp leasure battery charged every meeting, all this year it,s been sending 1/2 the info to the pagers. Performaire tell me that its an upgrade needed and to send it back and they will install the reqired software at a price. me thinks could this problem be transmitter related? could a different mast help? the weird thing is when i try it at home it seems to send the info ok better on a half charged battery hope someone can shed some intelligent advice

Ive no idea specifically, but is it a 12v system? a part-charged/low battery could be voltage-dropped nearer what it wants, have you checked the voltage of both batteries? has 1 got any dead cells?

I doubt it's a voltage or antenna issue. All the relative readings you are getting work on a reference voltage of 0.50 & 4.92 so even if the battery is not fully charged it should make no difference. A lot can be achieved with new software. For example the system can be commanded to ignore certain conflicting RF signals, one of which is causing your problem. How much is the upgrade?

If it works at home but not at the track then interference might be to blame. Can you switch channels on it at all?

ok here,s a bit more to the puzzle, checked and charged the battery last night and the transmitting time was 1/2 and the problem was even worse! cost of the upgrade $75 so thats my next step. as for next week i think i am going to try and reduce the voltage to the station and see what results i get if that causes problems then i will just use the tag and spences instructions!thanks for the input guys dave
