Hi folks,

as mentioned earlier I face the "common" problem of loose studs, I could remove 2 of them from the right front side hub and now the question would be how can
i refix them in the hub. There would maybe the option of welding but maybe somebody else had a smart idea already. I also contacted the factory to hear their suggestion.

I went through this last week, pulled the left hub complete with wheel to get the wheel nut off the stud. In the end I ended up tack welding the stud to the hub. I got to the left side and damned if I didn't have another one spinning so I just welded with everything in place.

while making the suspension alignment today we welded the loose studs with a dot to the hubs, still wondering why ultima is not doing this at the factory

Because you should not have too.
If the hole in the hub and the spline on the stud are the correct sizes then they should not come loose.
If they are loose then something was made wrong...I suspect the hub as the studs are a production item produced in the thousands.

hi steve, the problem occured using closed nuts that were not long enough inside, however only applying very little force with a hand tool.
The studs are pressed in the hubs and obviously cannot take much stress. It seems that under normal circumstances just strong enough but wonder what happens if
there is some corrosion ?
