Here's a random one for you.... my wife & I are off on holiday this Sunday (27th Sept), flying from Heathrow @ 6:30pm. We live in the Midlands and will be coming down the M40.

What I'm looking for is somewhere (a nice sports bar?) between Heathrow & maybe Oxford, where we can pull over, have a meal and watch the Singapore F1 race. Can anyone recommend anywhere? T5 don't have any sports bars listed on their website, so I don't want to risk getting to Heathrow super early & being disappointed / trapped!

Any advice from you guys would be much appreciated... if you can name any bars, I'll give 'em a ring and get an answer.

Thanks, Mark

That's what I thought, but so far, none of them have committed to knowing what they're planning on showing frown The phone calls continue, in lieu of any local knowledge from fellow PH'ers!!

If you want to be near the airport then you could try The Jolly Waggoner on the A4.

I often pop in there for a beer at lunch-time and the landlord is a decent enough chap and the beer's always in good nick.
Give him a call just to make sure he has the F1 on tho

Why not suggest an evening of drinking there then?
