anyone here goos with electrics

my son has a small electric motorbike, the battery is 6v and has had it. I have plenty of 12v batteries

can anything simple be done to use a 12v battery

V=IR so i guess i need a good resistor ?

Im goos at electrics, just stick 12V in and ignore the smell

Trouble with a resistor is you'll be expending half the energy from the battery just heating up the battery. Not eficient. You can get kits of voltage reducers but they would probably not handle the amperage the bike is likely to be drawing.
Can you look insode and see what its got in terms of internal electronics / controllers. If its basic and mechanico electrical (rheostats etc) I'd be inclinded to go with the above and just stick it in. Electric motors can usually handle more than their ratings.

If you do make sure to give him a helmet and put any spare mattresses you have up against the walls..............

i made up some connectors and plugged it in PMSL

it seriously moves now ! more wheelspin than traction

he has just flipped it into a hedge and will be going back out for some more drifting later when he stops crying !

If you want to do it properly I'm sure you can easily get a Voltage Regulator to handle that if not a DC-DC converter would be the expensive way.

my mrs has had a fit its so fast PMSL

gonna have to get him a crash helmet i think

suprisingly he was not so keen to get back on it after the accident !!

do you think a rheostat will calm it dowm - i was gonna try and rob one off the type used to dim the lights on a dashboard

what else has a good resistance that i can use ?

that actually looks like a ballast resistor, they used to use them in older ignition systems
