I'm after a new stylus for my 1980's Pioneer PL300 turntable. Prices online vary from £18-50 down to £8-50 plus vat. They look identical, both from British suppliers. For such a low volume item, I suspect there's probably only one manufacturer in the Far East and the diference is just in mark-up. Any idea? Any recommendations for a supplier?
Thanks in advance.

The turntable was originally fitted with a Pioneer PC135 cartridge and a Pioneer PN-135 stylus. Expect to pay about £20.00 GBP for a new replacement stylus (they are available on-line).

Thanks for that, but according to the manual, it has a PC-150 fitted. I've found two places that do them, for the prices mentioned. They look identical. I was wondering if there was likely to be any difference in quality. I can't imagine there is more than one company that still makes these.

I think either stylus would be suitable and definitely better than the old worn stylus! wink
