Reading that article, is there anything to suggest that any of these, unfortunate, deaths were speed related?

I don't know this road particularly well, is this the stretch that is something like 3 lanes wide on each side or is that at a different point?
Surely rather than speed cameras they should be going for more crossing traffic lights or underpass / overbridge?

Even at 30 mph limit it will take a slightly unfit person a good time to cross that road?

Yes probably wider than most dual carriageways but 30MPH most of the way and bl##dy hard to keep to yet you still get nutters dong 50-60mph and pedestrians ambling across as if its a single carriage way

Is this the bit where the retail park is?
Last time I was there there was a pedestrian crossing nearby and an overpass further on.

Not make sense to get folk to use that instead of leaping out into traffic?

Or am I in totally the wrong place? Quite a while since I've been over there.

The police have been there for years catching people speeding. Sad that so many people have lost there lives there, its the same up the road at the Shell petrol station people are in such a rush to get where they are going they never use the lights for crossing.

Maybe they should target the city centre end - every day folk fly down the hill from the motorway slip at an easy 50+mph....

Even watched a guy in a light blue 335i spin over onto the other side of the dual carriageway today on his way to the motorway up the hill at the city centre end of Great Western Road.....

All very well pinging folk for speeding, but how about nicking some of the lemmings that are making life more dangerous eh?

Unless the police are messing with natural selection.

I used to live up the hill from there, the police should let Darwin alone to do his work.....

Isn't "up the hill" perilously close to Drumchapel?
The police should "Dust off and nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure".

It is, I lived there for 4 perilous years! The tenement I lived in was knocked down years ago and now replaced with private houses.
